AREAS
OF FUNDING
The foundation board of directors currently seeks to build partnerships
with organizations working in the following countries and regions:
Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, India, Mexico, Central America, Haiti and the
Dominican Republic.
As
a faith-based organization, we prioritize faith-based, community-oriented
initiatives focused on one of three areas of development:
-
Hunger Alleviation and Economic Empowerment:
To strengthen community efforts towards food security and self-sufficiency,
grants are awarded in the areas of micro-enterprise development;
agricultural training and development; women's empowerment;
and health and nutrition. We also support faith-based
programs working to free individuals from exploitative work
conditions.
- Education
and Leadership Development: Youth are our leaders for
the next generation. We seek to invest in women, youth and their
communities by facilitating access to formal and nonformal education,
vocational training, and servant leadership development.
Our goal is to prepare inviduals as servant leaders in their
communities.
- Immigration
in the USA: Over
30 million immigrants currently live and work in the US, although
they are a largely underserved population and lack access to
education, housing, healthcare, and other basic rights.
We seek to build relationships with faith-based partners serving
this people group, advocating for positive policy reform, and
building just relationships.

Fruits" of the season
As part of
Broetje Orchards' commitment to service, 100% of profits from the sale
of cherries are donated annually to non-profit organizations.
Cherry
committees comprised of employees from Broetje Orchards and Vista Hermosa
meet annually to discuss issues, identify programs, and solicit proposals
for review.
This philanthropic process is led entirely by our employees and no unsolicited
proposals are accepted for review.
