announcement: FULL-CHARGE BOOKKEEPER
One
of Washington 's most diverse tree fruit companies seeks a full-time, full-charge
bookkeeper to assist in the account management of two key organizations. Broetje
Orchards, a for-profit company, and Vista Hermosa Foundation, a non-profit,
seek an individual with strong financial experience willing to handle a full
range of accounting functions. This position offers competitive pay, benefits,

located about 20 miles east of Pasco, Washington, off of Highway 124.
Duties
and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :
- Accounts payable, accounts receivable
and payroll
- General ledger, journal entries, reconciliations
- Prepares and maintains financial and
budget statements and reports
- Assists in the preparation of financial
audits as required by government regulations or non-government organizations
- Assists departments in preparation
and review of budgets
- Assists in the preparation and review
of required tax returns
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
and/or professional experience in accounting or finance; or any combination
of experience, education, and training which would provide the level of knowledge,
skill and ability required
- Technical principles and skills of
accounting and non-profit finance
- Knowledge and experience operating
office equipment, including a personal computer and accounting software
- Knowledge and experience in using
basic office software programs, specifically Microsoft Office Suite applications,
Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to maintain good working relationships
with co-workers, supervisor, management and external vendors and/or contractors
- Ability to communicate both orally
and in writing with a broad-range of people

Starting
Salary: $33,000-$36,000, depending on experience and qualifications; position
includes medical insurance and retirement program.

Job
Summary
The
Full-Charge Bookkeeper will provide support for a full range of general accounting
functions for both the Vista Hermosa Foundation and Broetje Orchards. General
accounting functions include preparing the general ledger, payables, payroll,
property, and budget reporting. This position is also responsible for preparing
the Foundation's monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports and statements.
This position will assist other departments in reviewing entries to the general
ledger for accuracy and preparing annual budgets. The employee will work under
the direction of Broetje Orchard's Controller and the Vista Hermosa Foundation's
Executive Director.
The
employee will need to be familiar with standard office equipment, including
working with accounting software such as QuickBooks to generate reports and
statements. The employee should be familiar with current regulations and guidelines
related to finance and accounting principles.
Essential
Responsibilities
- Responsible for payroll and accounts

- Coordinates and prepares for financial
audits as required by government regulations or other non-government organizations
- Reviews entries to the general ledger
to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles and
procedures
